Küschall R33

In 2007, the küschall® R33 was awarded the «Coup de Coeur»* by the French Hacavie association for its revolutionary de- sign and incomparable comfort. Jury members were particularly impressed by the innovative Low Impact System for shock absorption and the design and comfort of the Alcantara seat upholstery. The R33 also won the Janus Award* (a prestigious design award) in Paris in 2007 for its functional design and the Rehacare Design Award in 2008/ 2009.

L.I.S.® Low Impact System®

The Low Impact System® is an effective mechanism for absorbing impact. It iso- lates the wheelchair user from shock im- pulses caused by hard contact with the ground. The system which is comprised of a metal spring and a core is mounted beneath the seat module in the axis of the spine. Its stroke is sufficient to absorb impacts, but deliberately limited to pre- vent a loss of motive energy which dis- tinguishes it from conventional suspen- sion systems.
